Dear Me. Write now, read later...

Well, 2023 is here. I don’t know about you but I had high hopes for this year and if I’m being honest with myself (and you), it isn’t quite going as planned. Visions of meal plans, bedtime routines and content calendars have been swirling around in my head causing me to be stressed out just days into the New Year. In these moments, I need a reminder to focus less on perfection and more on being present. If you’re having a similar experience, please know you’re not alone and you don’t have to have the year (or next week) all figured out…

Write

I have been seeing all these beautiful vision boards all over the place. And while the Pinterest mom in me longs for even a digital goal-driven masterpiece, I just don’t want to spend my energy in that way. To ensure I’m still setting an intention for this year, I decided to draft a letter to my future (end of 2023) self. It took me 5 minutes and gave me so much to look forward to. If you’re interested, I made you a template in Word where all you have to do is download it, change the bolded letters and voila, you’re done. I hope it helps you have more clarity about who you want to be and how you want to grow. Maybe, we’ll have a virtual party in December where we reflect on our letters and celebrate every single drop of progress we made this year!

Eliminate

I know we haven’t known each other for very long but I care deeply about your well-being. As such, I’m going to address something quite personal and sensitive. It’s time for you to get rid of those undergarments that are literally holding on by a thread. They have served you well over the years but as hard as it is, the time to say goodbye is here. You deserve to walk through life knowing you’re being supported by whole, comfortable and yes, even sexy unmentionables. I got rid of quite a few and ordered up some new ones from Everlane for the very first time. Please drop your favorite undergarment brands in the comments. These are the important problems we should be solving 😂.

Learn

After battling cancer in 2021 and 2022, I understand the importance of scheduling routine doctor’s appointments for myself. I found this medical appointment guide for women from Oprah.com years ago and thought it was such a great starting point for us mamas to make our health a priority. Carve out an hour or two this month to call your physicians and get these dates on your calendar. Stat!!!

Love

I’ve been working on something near and dear to my heart and I’m finally ready to announce it. Over the last year, I’ve been working on writing the content for a 30 day guided journal for women. It’ll be months before it hits the shelves but I have been loving the process of seeing my emotions, personality and perspectives go from faint ideas to words on a page. Of course, any scoops or sneak peeks will be released here first. All I ask at this time is for your prayers as I navigate all the complexities of printing and publishing. Stay tuned for more…

Thanks for reading! This newsletter is a reader-supported publication. The best way to support it is to like, comment and share with your fellow mamas.

Until next time, live and be WELL!
