Last year, I quit Instagram.
But I held onto Facebook telling myself it was just to keep up with family and friends.
Then I started noticing something.
I’d open the app feeling fine. Scroll a bit. And leave feeling worse.
Maybe you’ve felt it too? That hollow, uneasy feeling like you just wasted time you’ll never get back?
Here’s something you might not know about me…
My patience is a work in progress.
Slow talkers? Test my limits.
Unfinished stories? Drive me crazy.
Waiting for God to answer my prayers? Can a girl get a fast pass?
But sometimes, impatience is a gift.
Because when you’re sick of waiting for yourself to make a change… you actually make one.
So I’m done.
No grand announcement. No special date to commemorate it. Just a random Sunday. One I hope changes the course of my life.
The perfectionist in me wanted a dramatic farewell. The senior citizen in me wanted it to be a special date on the calendar (because, well, memory).
Instead, I just… left (with a peace sign and heart emoji to express my love).
And you know what? I’m excited.
More writing. More podcasting. More connection.
Substack will be my main hub (for now…lol).
Will it feel weird?
Will I have FOMO?
Will I sometimes be out of the loop?
Heck yeah. And I can’t wait.
Funny enough, just days before I shut down my socials, my journal printer reached out asking if they could post about my story on IG.
I told them I hadn’t been on Instagram for a year.
They still said yes.
I think that was God giving me a little wink, like, “I see you, kid.”
Well, I see you too, God. And I’m grateful You’ve given me the courage to step back from the noise and lean into what truly matters.
So if you’ve been waiting for a perfect time to take a leap of faith…
This might be your sign that today’s the day!
You got this. And He’s got you.
Full agreement and giggles. Because I too am that senior citizen ✌🏽♥️
