Hey friend,
Call me Moses because I almost parted a lizard today…
I wish I was kidding.
I’m walking up the steps to the house after a fun grocery store run with my daughter and her best friend arms full of snacks, good vibes, and a pretty solid parenting moment.
And what greets me at the steps?
A Jurassic Park–sized iguana.
Okay, I may be exaggerating. But if you don’t know me: I am deathly afraid of lizards.
Basically anything with more legs than me.
Not “ew, gross” afraid. More like paralyzed and planning my escape route off this island afraid.
So I did what any reasonable adult would do:
I yelled at it
I stomped near it
I threw small and big rocks
I found a stick and tried to poke it
And yes… I even put blueberries on the end of the stick like some kind of iguana peace offering.
I know I looked like a crazy person which would have been fine if it had worked.
It. Would. Not. Budge.
It was the most stubborn iguana I’ve ever met.
And did I mention?
I had a call I needed to be on. I was already running late.
Fear was blocking the door (literally) and I didn’t know what else to try.
So, I got back in the car. Took a breath. And decided:
Let me just focus on the thing I need to do right now. I’ll deal with the gosh-darn lizard later.
So I did my call. And when I walked back to the steps afterward?
The lizard was gone.
That’s when God whispered something to me:
“You don’t always have to fight what’s blocking you.
Sometimes I’ll move it while you focus on being faithful.”
Lord. Have. Mercy.
Wasn’t there another way to teach me this, Jesus?
And this wasn’t the only scary thing I dealt with this week.
I made a YouTube video about how I’m building my confidence with speaking on camera and how sometimes the best next step is just that:
The next step.
Not the big leap. Not the full fix.
Just a quiet yes in the right direction.

If you're stuck staring at your own metaphorical lizard whether it be a decision, a deadline, a dream, a fear, maybe don’t force it today.
Maybe just focus on what needs your attention right now.
And trust that God might be doing some moving of His own.
Let’s build a life that feels lighter.
I help women create simple systems that honor their season (with God, grace and a little strategy). Let’s hop on a call to see how coaching with me works.
With you in the trenches 💛
This is something I needed to read today! thank you for the lovely email. Let’s leave it in Jesus Hands after all he sacrificed it all for us. God bless you sis
