Happy Mothers Day to all you Wellthy Mamas out there. I hope you are allowing yourselves to be celebrated for not only the big and small moments you create but most importantly for your kind and beautiful hearts. My gift to each one of you today is simple: a tool to help revolutionize your decision-making and bring more ease and efficiency to your busy lives. Let’s dive in…

Write

Usually at the start of the week, there is a split second where you go from relaxed and present to anxious and frantic. The to-do list smacks you in the face telling you to wake up cause the week’s about to get going again. Instead of curling into a ball on the couch trying to slow down time, I want you to grab a notebook and write down one decision that causes you angst and drains you of your time and energy. Some examples that can negatively affect your week include:

  1. What you and your family are eating today

  2. When date night is going to be

  3. What do you need to focus on at work this week

Eliminate

Take the one energy drainer (aka vampire) you selected from the WRITE list above and explore ways to reduce or eliminate the decision altogether. For example, if deciding what to eat is causing you stress every day, then try one or more of the following:

  1. Create a meal plan for the week

  2. Choose what days you’re going to cook and which days are takeout days.

  3. Select which restaurants you’re going to buy food from.

Don’t worry about making it pretty. The whole point is to fight decision fatigue by having one less choice taking up space in your brain. Just enjoy the feeling of having one thing taken care of these next two weeks. Then, maybe you can think about tackling another blood sucker 😂

Learn

We’re doing things a little backwards today but you just learned (and hopefully implemented) the Decide Once principle from the Lazy Genius Way book by Kendra Adachi. I give examples of the decide once concept and 9 other life-changing nuggets from the Lazy Genius Way in this video.

Love

I think that it’s very clear that I love the Lazy Genius Way book but I also love her podcast. Kendra’s southern drawl with a dash of feistiness and a sprinkle of sarcasm is the perfect mix of realness and humor. It just hits different when you hear the words come out of HER mouth. Pick any title that interests you and I promise you’re walking away with a new perspective or more conviction. Either way, you’re a winner!

The Lowe Down

Every 2 weeks, I answer an anonymous question from YOU!!! Click here or on the card below to submit an anonymous question about managing your schedule, home or life so you have more time for the stuff that matters.
